Will Williams and Gravel Road

Hello, welcome to our web page. Will Williams and Gravel Road is a Idaho based Bluegrass band with Tennessee Flair. Let us play for you at your next event. For those of you that have used us in the pass we would like to thank you for all of your support. Now booking shows and festivals for 2010 and 2011.
Thank you.  Will , Chris , Pete , Helen and Raynae

Meet the Band........

Will Williams, a Tennessee-style banjo picker, transplanted to Idaho from Chattanooga. Will’s banjo provides a solid foundation for their traditional drivin’ sound. Will has a great lead voice, complete with that southern drawl. Additionally, Will is well known in the bluegrass world today as a builder of the finest pre-war sounding banjos you can find. He is endorsed by top players like Kenny Ingram 2008 banjo player of the year, Steve Dilling, Bill Evans and Dick Brown,  just to name a few.

Helen Smith is “one of the finest bluegrass bass players in the northwest“. She pushes the music forward with the consistent thump of her acoustic bass. She is the glue that binds the Will Williams & Gravel Road together, musically, with her bass and physically, as she keeps the band scheduled.

Pete Northcutt, a fine musician and the dobro player for Gravel Road. Pete’s innovation on the dobro adds a fullness and interest. Pete also plays the banjo and occasionally, we talk him into flat-picking a tune or two.

Chris Williams is a fresh fiery mandolin player with an amazing bluegrass chop and brings youth and enthusiasm to the mix. Born in ChattanoogaTennessee, his bluegrass roots run deep from his dad Will and his Grandpa. When you hear him play, there will be no doubt that bluegrass music is in his blood.

Raynae Redman, plays rhythm guitar and is the newest member of the Gravel Road. She comes to us from the great state of Montana and is no stranger to bluegrass. Raynae’ s bluegrass foundation comes from playing with bands around the Missoula area and studying greats, like Bill Monroe. Whether she is giving a lesson or chatting about bluegrass pioneers, her love of bluegrass is evident.
